TIPSY MOJO (c, 2, Mind Control--Slightly Tipsy, by Uncle Mo) became the second winner for his freshman sire Mind Control (Stay Thirsty) when he rolled to victory at Monmouth Park Sunday. The dark bay colt, sent off at 5-2 in the four-horse field, rated just off pacesetting favorite Even Up (Sea Wizard). He spurted up three wide into the stretch, strode to the lead at midstretch and pulled away to a 4 1/2-length victory. Even Up was second and Final Minute (Drain the Clock) was third. At the 2026 Ocala Breeders' Sales (OBS) April sale, a colt from the first crop of the stallion Mind Control sold for $700,000. This colt, Hip 805, highlighted a successful showing for the freshman sire, recording a co-fastest furlong breeze in :9 3/5, demonstrating strong performance and attracting a high bid

Stallion Spotlight offers stud farm representatives a chance to address breeders and answer questions as they plan their future matings.

In this edition, Michael Lischin and Bill Leak of Irish Hill and Dutchess Views Stallions in Stillwater, N.Y., discuss Mind Control, a Grade 1-winning son of Stay Thirsty who recently completed his second season at stud.

Mind Control, who entered stud at Rockridge this year, has been moved to Irish Hill & Dutchess Views Stallions for the 2024 season. The move was predetermined by cooperative agreement among the New York breeders that brought the threetime grade 1 winner to the Empire State last year. The stallion stands for a partnership of Rockridge, Irish Hill & Dutchess Views Stallions, Waldorf Farm, and Hidden Lake Farm. He is standing for $8,500 next year. All fees with a live foal stands and nurses guarantee. 

The busiest stallion outside of Kentucky was New York's Mind Control (Rockridge Stud) with 190. 

Mind Control bred 190 mares this season - more than any other NY stallion IN HISTORY.

Tenacious to the end, Red Oak Stable and Madaket Stable's Mind Control (Stay Thirsty) closed out his career with a win in the 2022 GI Cigar Mile, his third Grade I win and his 11th black-type victory. In a remarkable 29 starts over five years, Mind Control amassed total winnings of $2,185,834. In that race, as in all of Mind Control's stakes wins, he beat an impressive field of competitors, including favored Zandon, White Abarrio, and Get Her Number. Big numbers, indeed.

Multiple grade 1 winner Mind Control  , most recently winner of the Cigar Mile Handicap Presented by NYRA Bets (G1) will enter stud at Rockridge Stud in New York under the management of Irish Hill Farm, Dutchess Views Stallions, Hidden Lake Farm, and Rockridge Stud, the colt's ownership group announced Dec. 21.
